We had a superior dinner here tonight. First course we both had cold pea soup with chevre, and a glass of Chablis. Excellent, and a nice wine.
For our main we shared an entrecote, with glasses of Cote de Beaune. I've eaten a lot of bad entrecote in France, thin, tough, overcooked. This one was extraordinarily delicious. I don't know what their meat source is, it's possible that the menu mentioned that, I don't recall. I ordered the steak "a point" and they probably were right on. I probably should have ordered it rare. Did I mention this was a delicious steak? The pinot noir was also superior, very good for by the glass.
For desserts we had the "Amadeus," which was a chocolate fondant, and a tarte tatin. The tarte was good, and the Amadeus was fabulous, bittersweet 70% dark chocolate.
Service was pleasant if harried. The only downside was the frantic, pushy, and rude hostess, who was also, unfortunately, serving tables. She needs to calm down, slow down, cut back on caffeine, and work on her courtesy.
The tables are tight. That's just the way it is. We're were in the small interior and there were also many outside tables.
I will return. It's a new favorite, despite the unfortunate hostess. The kitchen makes up for her..
